about

I recently discovered this forgotten recording as I was going through my sessions. I had originally started working on this as part of my solo project, but I felt it was a really good fit for the latest Railbenders record, "The Medicine Show." Of course, I'm partial to the Railbenders version now, but I also really dig this version and the unique mix of players. I love the JJ Cale feel guitar fills that Harley added to the verses. He also played the tight chunky rhythm guitar part and the outro solo. I played the middle guitar solo. If you know the Railbenders version, you'll notice that I pretty much kept the original solo played here, note for note. Luckily at the time I was working on this, Eddie Spaghetti of the Supersuckers happened to be in town. I asked him if he could help me out with the bass part and he kindly agreed to come by the studio (Jeremy Lawton's house) and knocked it out of the park. PH Naffah recorded the drum tracks at his home studio and as usual, nailed the right feel for the song....JD
